Short, concise, clear advice. Can be used by any student

I wish all books were as tightly written as this one, yet as full of useful advice. Based primarily on the experiences of real students (thus saving new students from making mistakes), the book focuses on these key areas: What college is and is not Knowing yourself Talking to your peers Choosing classes Working with your advisor Changing your Mind (and how to know WHEN to do that) Helpful resources There is much more in this slim volume as well. Worthwhile reading.

Ready to declare my major!

As a second-semester freshman, I was pretty nervous about having to delcare my major next year--so I'm very glad that my father got this book for me! It really helped me figure out my interests and focus on the major that I think will be right for me. Major advice for your college student

My daughter was struggling this semester to find the right major at college (which she has to declare in the spring). I bought this book for her because I thought it would be very useful with its fellow student quotes and straightforward tone. Great Advice for Freshmen & Sophomores!

As a sophomore who is totally unsure about what to choose for my major next semester, I came across this book and was very surprised by the concrete advice it gives. There are some really great quotes from current students and recent grads, and the whole book just seemed to motivate me to make the right choice. I know my major choice will not change my life, but it was important to have a hand of encouragement. Fellow sophomores, I highly recommend this book as you fish for your major!
