Build a camp fire, pour yourself a good glass of Scotch & completely immerse yourself into life of Miles Jax. From page one you feel as though you are right there along side Miles feeling the same pleasure and pains (sometimes both at the same time)that come his way. Bradley F Koetting, the Hunter S Thompson of West Texas, has nailed it on this book. It is truly a story you can read over and over again and enjoy the ride more and more each time around. In the words of the immortal Mr. Thompson "Buy the ticket, take the ride."
Deeply touching.....

Fisher of Men is a work that touched me deeply. It is a story of Love, pain, and the search for that place where all is right in the world. As with Koetting's other works, there is more than is on the page and when it grabs you it does not let you go. Reading this I found myself laughing out loud, reflecting on my own life, and needing a tall glass of neat scotch. All of this usually occured on each page. It is the rare author who has the ability to immerse you from the 1st page and hold you through the entire book. Koetting is that rare author. The quest for beauty, is a curse of the learned. So hard to find, yet such an essential need Like water for flowers, or the air we breathe. To be blissful in life, and only take what we are given. So attractive at times, but untrue to ourselves. We have to seek more, not accept what is written. To live with this burdern, and accept its pain This is our mission, our life not in vain. For others learn from us, we are the leaders Our gift to this world, our legacy and legend.
a great read by a new author

I sure hope Mr. Koetting's first effort will not be his last. I bought this on recommendation of a friend, and enjoyed it thoroughly. The story chronicles a man slowly removing himself from the world and its burdens as he slowly succumbs to cancer, Sounds thoroughly depressing, but the prose and dialogue keeps it engaging and even funny at times.
