He goes over to a pair of moored boats to investigate, but doesn't expect to find the anomaly that he does. As soon as he pulls back the netting from the poor creature stranded in the rock pool, he promptly turns away and heaves. What is this creature? How did it get here? What was he going to do when he can't get it out of his mind by the time he returns home? The answer is quite simple really; he has to go back.The story follows Rio attempting to come to terms with finding a merman on the beach and trying to heal his wounds. However, the 'healing' doesn't have quite the effect Rio was hoping for and all too soon, the merman has lost his tail and grown a pair of legs instead. The only advantage to all of this is -the creature is the fastest swimmer in the world.
