You must know when to fold ‘em.

Everyone must start somewhere. Moreover, this is an informative book for starting from scratch as we head into our quilting careers. In addition, for those who think they already know everything, you may be surprised that this book can show you that one thing you thought you knew. The book is constructed with hardcovers but a ring-binding spine. The book is divided into six lessons, each of which is color-coded for easy access. The book goes through terminology and tools. I never noticed that you could place two straight edges next to each other, making a sort of T-square. The colors and pictures make this book as well as a video. The descriptions make it better. “A quilt is quite simply three layers of cloth which have been sandwiched together and secured by yarn ties or simple stitches.”

The Best Beginner Book

This is the best beginner book. I was able to teach myself how to quilt easily. The pictures are really great for those of us who are visual learners.

Great for first time quiltmakers

This book is great if you are just starting out making quilts. It has a lot of pictures and very detailed descriptions of what to do. I made my first quilt with this book, and it actually turned out really nice!

A must have for my quilting library

I had checked out First Time Quiltmaker at my local library, renewed it twice and decided I needed to have this on my shelf. I have quilted for a number of years without much help or guidance so this has helped be fill in some of the basics I was missing.
