A truly beautiful story!

It takes a special kind of author to pen a story that is so beautifully written. That author is Wanda B. Campbell! There were times when Julia and Reggie were so stubborn that I wanted to just take them by their heads and knock them together. But that would've killd the beauty in this story. Wanda allowed the beauty of the story to drip from her pen, making it a perfect love story. The chemistry between these two was obvious but their self control and respect for the Higher power was right on point. I recommed this book for anyone who loves a good romance. Congrats Wanda, this is a wonderfully told story and I look forward to your next offering!

Love is Always Love

First Sunday in October is a realistic portrayal of Christians in love. Reverend Reginald Pennington is a young preacher who for the past five years has led a growing, spirit-filled congregation. Reggie is also very physically appealing and most of the young women in his congregation have dreams of marrying him. However, Reggie is single-mindedly focused on his church. He also has a secret he has not forgiven himself for that stops him from truly living. Julia Simone is an extremely wealthy business-owner. She was married and widowed at a very young age. She has one daughter, Shay, who is now in college. She also had a second, abusive marriage and has kept herself away from relationships for years. Now at forty, she is ready for love but does not know if she can trust. A series of circumstances bring Reggie and Julia together and though they are taken in by the other's spirituality and attractiveness, they both decide they can not have a relationship with the other. However, they are unable to stay apart, so they decide to be, `Just Friends.' Of course, their feelings grow but they are plagued by misunderstanding and miscommunications. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this realistically, portrayed book of how Christians date, while also seeing portrayals of real people and their struggles. Ms. Campbell penned a wonderfully, romantic, spirit-filled first novel. I recommend First Sunday in October to those who enjoy Christian Fiction and to anyone who enjoys a well-told romantic story. (RAW Rating: 4.5) - True Love Is Worth Waiting For

Julia Simone appeared to have everything a woman desired in life; she had a wonderful and loving family and a successful career and company. She was a single parent and her life revolved around making sure her daughter Shay had all the opportunities she deserved. After Shay is away in college and Julia has reached her goals with her career, she senses a void in her life and she doesn't know how to fill it. Julia meets Rev. Reginald Pennington, a powerful up-and-coming minister. It is love at first sight when they meet, but neither realize it because they are not looking for love at this time, or so they think. Both have issues of forgiveness and reconciliation they must resolve before they can move their friendship to the next level. They manage to work together on these issues to both realize that they are indeed soul mates God has put together for a reason. Together they are a good team and with the family involved, they are strong enough to face all obstacles thrown at them. Wanda B. Campbell has done a wonderful job with FIRST SUNDAY IN OCTOBER, her debut novel. She told a story of two people who had never experienced true love and how with forgiveness and reconciliation of past wrongs true love it is really worth waiting on. She pulled you into the lives of the characters and made you feel as though you knew them. I look forward to her next project. Reviewed by Patrice M. Harlson for The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

EXCELLENT, REFRESHING, WELL DEVELOPED

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT FIRST OFFERING BY WANDA B. CAMPBELL. A ROMANCE NOVEL BASED UPON CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES, IT IS CLEAN, THERE IS NO PROFANITY NOR EXPLICIT SEXUAL DESCRIPTIONS, NOR ETHICALLY QUESTIONABLE PLOTS. IT WAS A GOOD READ AND I ENJOYED IT THOROUGHLY. FOR THOSE WHO NEED A BREAK FROM THE SMUT THAT MOST ROMANCE NOVELIST PEDDLE TO THE PUBLIC, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING FIRST SUNDAY IN OCTOBER, AND KEEP YOUR EYE OUT FOR ADDITIONAL WRITINGS FROM THIS DYNAMIC YOUNG AUTHOR.
