As a 17 year juvenile, Burq was conscious that Hindus, in undivided India, were educated, well-trained to British colonies and prosperous. The Muslim masses on the other hand were mostly uneducated, engaged in labor and busy with rituals. This made him self-critical. As he grew older and got educated, he realized that Qur'an was a great miracle dawned on the Prophet in the Arabian esert. He got down to research and realized that key to success was in the first sentences - READ and WRITE. Dr. Burq served as a lecturer in various colleges and wrote 29 books including the masterpiece "Two Qur'ans" - one that is in the hearts of the Muslims and practiced, and the other that is ignored. His research in the "pre media" era has moved on since his days, and we hope that one day a second edition will uncover further discoveries of this wonderful world, in which we are fortunate enough to been living.
