By Winston Plowes

Ghazals in English by Winston Plowes. Some Ghazals have been translated into Urdu.

Ghazal 'Could be home' by Winston Plowes is an inspiring attempt at a difficult classical Persian form. The result is spare, direct and forceful, capturing the complex in simple language.

Lorna Crozier

I think you have come as close to the ghazal form as is possible in English.

Basir Sultan Kazmi

When I listen to Winston reading his ghazals in English I hear them in Urdu.

Nabia Jameel

Stylish, deft and heartfelt writing that shows us form can mean freedom.
