5/9/36 - 5/12/26 First Love, Second Chance aka A Family of Her Own by Brenda Novak (Dundee, Idaho #3) The Dundee, Idaho series continues with Brenda Novak’s writings, giving heart, compassion, love, some heart wrenching times, some lessons learned, some growing pain for the continuation of the characters of Dundee. Katie returns from San Francisco, pregnant and disillusioned at how her life turned out with the man she left Dundee with. Her parents turned her away, and the one person she wanted to avoid is the one person that ends up helping her through her depression and her pregnancy. She even realizes that her star struck childhood love was not what she really wanted but the man who rescued her! Although he’s seemingly still has trouble following even though it is good deeds he’s doing because people never forget your tawdry past. What a beautiful story, heart rendering and so very complex in love when two people find it so hard to show their true feelings. Also how beautiful to show compassion for the mentally challenged individual that the couple love and protect from the community. Brenda has shown us there can be such good rewards in being kind to all of we just open our hearts.
