The entire purpose of the rewrite is not to change the story, but rather to make it an easier, smoother story to read. The erotic portions of the story will be softened, to match the soft romantic mood of the story. A time that sees them come together in a one night fling that takes on a life of both its own, along with the lives of their family and friends. While the story is a love story about two women, it is no different than a love story between a man and women. Like most love stories this one begins with the period of total infatuation and then progresses through the getting know each other stage, through the "Am I sure Stage," from there into the stage of commitments, and finally the sharing of lives wonders together.
