I bought this for my 7-year-old and 4-year-old and it has been quite a hit. The illustrations are beautiful. As with most Barefoot anthologies it does an excellent job of helping younger readers stay engaged with longer, more complex stories through the rich illustration on every page and the perfect telling of the tale. Another excellent Barefoot Book!
Heartwarming stories for a winter eve.

Beautiful illustrations make these winter tales come to life. The stories are short enough to read aloud to children, or for family story time--a wonderful way to begin family conversations. Most of the stories were new to me and yet all convey universal themes. I highly recommend this book to those who love stories and story-telling.
Beautiful, Well Written Book

I just received this book in the mail yesterday and I LOVE IT. It's absolutely beautiful. I propped it up on my mantle so we remember to take it down to read. We read the first story aloud last night and it was written so well and a joy to read aloud. The illustrations are warm and beautiful. This is one of my favorite books for sharing as a family.
