This book is a sequel to Fiona Flamingo Has Lost Her Pink. In Fiona Flalmingo Turns Green, Fiona goes on a road trip to the historical city of Savannah, Georgia. Fiona is invited by the Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick's Day parade to help dye the Forsyth Park Fountain green. Instead, Fiona Flamingo accidentally falls in the fountain and turns green herself the reader is able to experience Savannah's St. Patrick's Day parade through the eyes of Fiona Flamingo. Fiona flamingo enjoys watching the marching bands, the belly dancer and the horses in the parade. Fiona Flamingo enjoys a traditional Irish meal of corned beef, cabbage and Irish soda bread. After such a fun day, Fiona Flamingo falls asleep. The zoo keeper has to wake her from her nap to remind her that is time to return to the zoo. At the end of the story, Fiona Flamingo wishes the reader a Happy St. Patrick's Day and hopes that the reader will visit her at the zoo one day. Fiona Flamingo Turns Green is a picture book that is intended for beginning readers to read on their own or with assistance. The book rhymes in English which makes it easy and fun to read for beginning readers.
