The Finger Bone Club Bluz: An Annette Dupart Book

Seven 9-year-old boys in a secret club search for a clubhouse. They find a building hidden in a nature preserve near Columbus, MS. Robby steps out of the building and falls into a trench and loses his glasses. He puts them on and sees bones from a severed finger. The club members think this is super cool.
Robby's mother finds the bones and turns them over to her brother, a Sheriff's Deputy. A massive search in the nature preserve near an oxbow lake ensues. The remains of 4 humans is found. Three are over 60 years old, the other, are the remains of a 15-year-old girl that went missing five years ago. A search begins for clues as to who committed these murders.
Auto Dealer, Bucky Chalmers is concerned about fraud and theft in his dealership. He asks LeDuc and Johnson to find out who is stealing the money. CPA Annette Dupart, arrives to dig into the books. She immediately discovers fraud on several levels. Before she can present her findings to Bucky, he is murdered. A week later his successor brother is also murdered.
Annette suspects family employees, responsible for the theft may also be responsible for Bucky's death. Annette is asked by the majority stockholder to continue looking for who is committing the crimes. As a result many of the family members do not show up for work. Children of the family members belong to the club they have now named the Finger Bone Club.
With the aid of some adults Annette is lured to the Oxbow lake building and the 9-year-old's conduct a mock trial to hold Annette responsible for the parents losing their jobs.
Murder, childhood pranks and getting shot at are all giving Annette a case of Finger Bone Club Bluz.
