Karyn O'Beirne has written a book about steps she took when she found herself at that place in life where the spirit wants more. If you are there, Karyn's adventures may give you some ideas. This diary follows her and her friends and family through the pit of "stuckness". It does not provide a magic bullet. Rather, it suggests a starting point for an adventure that never ends. It gives you ideas of ways to explore outside of your day-to-day world and at the same time become satisfied with the day-to-day. I find I like to open it randomly and read whatever part of the adventure is recorded there.
The Path of Spiritual Awakening

Findings from the Hunting Party's Scout This is a "coming of age" story about a mature woman, mother and wife and successful business consultant. The coming of age is deeply spiritual. Mrs O'Beirne shares her very personal process as she rediscovers and recaptures her psychological history and then merges that history with mystical awakening. It brings to mind the newness of this work, the wonderment that those who have been on this path discover, and rediscover. I admire her receptivity to all philosophies mystical and spiritual. Karyn explores all traditions, understanding at the core that they all speak the same truth. I recommend this book to any and all that have taken this path and to those that are contemplating the path of spiritual awakening.
An adventure well worth reading about!

This book, which was recommended to me by a family member, was quite a revelation. I'm a person who tends to be skeptical of anything without a scientific explanation, but this very personal and down-to-earth account of a financial consultant and mother of two's quest for spirituality and personal fulfillment via transcendental meditation and the pursuit of time-honored mystic traditions really broadened my personal outlook. The author's candid narrative about how she made over her less-than-satisfying life and healed old wounds she'd sustained since childhood is always engaging and often very insightful and amusing as well. Her open-minded and non-dogmatic approach to personal enlightenment wherever it might be found inspired me to reconsider my own habitual doubts about anything that doesn't fit within the realm of rationality and science. I recommend this book wholeheartedly to anyone who's interested in expanding their spiritual horizons!
Findings I received

I received some findings from a Hunting party scout. As a Materialist Humanist I must receive communications from a rather contrasting perspective. Ms O'beirne is able to enter realms quite distinct from this Humanist. Ms O'beirne takes us on a number of journeys , geographical, meditative, and in dreams. This passenger goes from Long Island, to New York City, New Jersey, to many special places not only in U.S. but to many places around the world. We also are taken on trips within the writer's dreams, meditative states, and maybe beyond? Ms O'beirne can at one moment be in a dream and the next be cheering on her son in a football game just like any other suburban parent.. The range of emotion is quite wide ,showing the desire to recognize our vulnerabilities as we seek higher standards.. Does Ms O'beirne discover these realms through intuitive and mystical contacts or is she being very creative in collaborative efforts?. Might it be both? Does her transcendent experiences arise from her rich imagination or is she able to connect with a spiritual realm beyond herself? Frequent contacts with many leading figures in her search give her a rich environment for her spiritual journey. The back of the book (page 198) lists some of these people. I am uncertain in attempting to characterize her areas of exploration as " New Age, Pagan, Buddhist, Eastern thought, and other areas of the mystical. I can readily be corrected in this area of attempted classification. I can more readily relate to the rich imagination . and appreciation of the wonders of our universe. Materialists can receive the impact of the phenomena of nature with great Awe and wonder. It is easy to see "enchantment" in our world and our place in it;. is it not so that we are after all children of those stars which may now be out of existence after the long travel of light arriving at earth.. Not only is there wonder in the natural beauty but also we appreciate our ability to create more great Aesthetic items either with great buildings or other art forms as well as performing beautiful sounds and other pleasant sensual creations. I am fascinated when creative artists perform together often unrehearsed such as jam sessions and yet the creative forces come together. I recognize other forms of cooperative creation artists, poets and other writers etc. Do we create these amazing things; Some folks may find that they receive input from spiritual non material sources. We are either or both creators and/or discoverers. Maybe we can be in touch with the spiritual or we can create our spiritual essences through our creative activities. Some may believe both. I would wonder if Ms O'beirne finds herself in touch with a transcendent reality. I hope to show my courteous efforts in hearing her give this message. I may not be able to be in touch with this experience; but I can only appreciate her ability to relate hers. I am impressed that from
