Figment the Timid Firework
Deep in the glow-filled shelves of an old firework emporium, where rockets boast and fountains glitter with confidence, lives a firework who feels very different from the rest.
His name is Figment-a tiny, lavender-purple firework with a crinkled wrapper, a crooked fuse, and a heart full of worry. While the other fireworks dream of thunderous applause and sky-filling explosions, Figment dreams of something much smaller.
Figment is afraid.
Afraid that when it's his turn to shine, nothing will happen at all.
Hidden away in a forgotten cardboard box, Figment listens as the grand fireworks brag about how spectacular they'll be. They promise booming finales, roaring crowds, and skies ablaze with colour. Figment looks at his uneven wrapper and drooping fuse and wonders if there's anything special inside him at all.
So he waits.
And he worries.
And he stays hidden-where no one can be disappointed.
Until New Year's Eve arrives.
The town gathers beneath the midnight sky, buzzing with excitement. The fireworks soar. The crowd cheers. Everything is perfect... until the grand finale fails. The sky falls silent. Faces drop. A little girl asks where the stars have gone.
And in that quiet, heartbreaking moment, something inside Figment begins to glow.
Though he's small.
Though he's scared.
Though he's never believed in himself before.
Figment makes a brave choice.
He doesn't need to be the loudest.
He doesn't need to fill the entire sky.
He just needs to try.
What follows is a breathtaking moment of courage as Figment rises into the darkness and discovers that his spark-gentle, beautiful, and entirely his own-is exactly what the world needs.
