Real Life!

I am a romance writer who's used to writing stories with some issues and happy endings. I write stories that help the reader escape. I loved "Fever" for its romance, but its no holds barred face off with the real issues women face. I love a good plot, but "Fever" was neatly balanced with an explosive plot and deeply drawn characters that made me mad, frustrated, and happy. I can't wait to read "Like Boogie on Tuesday", and all of Ms. Grosvenor's books! She truly has something to say to women of all races.

deep relationship drama

Nina loves Tim, but resents the fact that he spends 110% of his time on his film. Ignoring Nina, Tim directs and produces his film while also working on distribution. Nina feels ignored and her own identity buried under the avalanche of being the wife of Tim the moviemaker. In spite of loving him and having given up her own career and Brooklyn home to accompany Tim to California, Nina decides she cannot compete with his mistress, film making so she flees Los Angeles for New York.Sam loves Carla, but struggles with her inability to show she cares for him. However, Sam fails to really see what is mentally destroying Carla, who believes she cannot turn to her spouse for solace. She holds a secret that if revealed probably will destroy her marriage, his love for her, and ultimately her life.Troi has been there and done that as a survivor of the downside of relationships. She has turned around her negatives into a positive. Feeling altruistic and mature, Troi wants to share her experience with these two couples struggling to survive after the initial rush of passion has ended.Fans of deep relationship dramas starring real people struggling with their past and present will relish Linda Dominque Grosvenor?s strong insightful tale. The theme focuses on the exertions of the two couples to make it as a pair while not losing one?s own essence. Troi serves as the role of model/mentor as well as the literary device that links the couple?s subplots into a cohesive story line. FEVER is a fantastic reading experience.Harriet Klausner

Sequel Justice!

Ms. Grovenor?s style of writing is intoxicating. Fever is a captivating follow-up to its predecessor, and it was extremely hard for me to put this book down. The characters, introduced in Like Boogie on Tuesday, developed nicely into their experiences, and just when I thought I knew them, I realized that there was still so much more to learn. Bravo Ms. Grosvenor!

Beautiful Music...

Linda Dominique Grosvenor's Fever is a scrupulous unveiling of the delicate balance of imperfections found in love, passion, forgiveness, and compromise--all in the confines of a marriage. Who else but this author could explore this subject and give it such a close examination as Grosvenor has done here?  The beauty of this work of fiction is found coming from the pen of a writer who is intent on presenting a delicate, detailed demonstration of parts that  make up a wonderful whole exemplified as in this novel. The title of this novel, Fever, tells precisely what the book is about.  According to The American Heritage Dictionary, fever is "an abnormal body temperature; heightened activity or excitement; short-lived enthusiasm or craze." In this case, all three apply.  Set in New York City and Los Angeles, the five main characters are caught up in a web of drama in their lives.  It is due to the exquisite enterprise of Grosvenor that the book is an intimate story of five people whose lives are going awry in a dramatic way. Their human story, their motives, their innermost and heartfelt emotions converge and touch the reader in a profound way, drawing one in to share their stories.  Marital discord is at the heart of the story, and like molecular atoms bumping into each other, these characters deal with issues of blackmail, infidelity, deception and secrets, self-image, and trusting oneself to love again while the monkey demons ride them in subtle and overt ways while the author beautifully keeps the reader guessing about the core of their discontentment.Nina and Tim are drifting apart because of his work as a filmmaker in LA. He is single-mindedly pursuing his dream of producing, directing, and distributing to the public a film that he and Nina can be proud of, but he doesn't realize that his wife is unhappy with his 24/7 mindset.  Not until Nina flees back to New York City does Tim begin to see the error of his ways and come to terms with his deep abiding love for Nina.  She has given up her career and her life in New York to be with Tim, but she finds herself questioning everything about herself, including her mental and physical self-image as the wife of Tim. She feels she no longer has a self-identity.  Her entire life revolves around Tim and his fluctuating world.Carla and Sam are dealing with Carla's lack of showing affection and intimacy for her husband while he desperately tries to hold their marriage together. What Sam is unaware of is that his wife is mentally on a runaway train. She is enmeshed in a state of duplicity, harboring a secret of gargantuan portion that when disclosed will rise up like shaking and quaking dead bones from an ossuarium. When her deception and secret are disclosed, it is anyone's guess as to the outcome.  The author, however, gives a two-sided view of  predictability and unpredictability in this volatile situation after it has blown up.Troi, on the other hand, is filled with passion, strength of character, and pla

Fever is Hot

Grosvenor has done it again! For those still riding the wave of excitement about Like Boogie on Tuesday you will not want to wait to get your hands on a copy of the sequel, "Fever". Follow Tim and Nina as they continue on their journey of discovery, love and life. A page turner from the onset Fever was an enjoyable read and very much signature Grosvenor with her ability to put the reader smack dab in the middle of her characters.
