Intending to become a woman of independent means by taking in boarders at her late husband's estate, young widow Felicity Rhoades realizes that something has gone awry when all of her guests turn eccentric and a handsome lord pursues her.
Felicity Rhoades is determined to make it on her own! To do so, she must go against the protests of her hot-tempered brother and the antics of a bevy of eccentric boarders and other-worldly beings who seem intent upon sabotaging Felicity's every effort to run a respectable boarding house. The ghostly scenes in this story are the funniest I have ever read. Many of the ghostly sightings and legends that the author mentions are indeed true stories. Being from England, I am quite familiar with certain of these tales that have been associated with English castles and abbeys for centuries. Ms. Clay has obviously done extensive research before writing this very funny story. A MUST READ, don't miss this one!
A very funny story, complete with ghosts and legends!

This is a cleverly written story with interwoven plots that involve a number of mysteries. Who, or what, is digging up the grounds of Rhoades Arbor? Why is Felicity Rhoades using an assumed name? Why is she protecting her dead husband? Which one of the Arbor guests is not who she, or he, seems to be? Felicity's ideas to catch the ghostly vandal will keep you in stitches! Both Felicity and Maitland are well-drawn, likeable characters who display deep human emotions as they resist falling in love with one another. Ms. Clay has managed to write a very funny story with laugh out-loud scenes and at the same time, a heart-wrenching love story and mystery novel. If you are a true Regency fan, you won't want to miss this one! Very well done!!
