Great American Girl short story

History, a great story and an authentic historical craft! Not only that, but just the right size for girl-sized hands. A+++++++ Cannot be beat!

Great book about Felicity

In Felicity Takes a Dare, Felicity goes to the fair in Williamsburg, Virginia. She goes off with her sister and brother to see the racehorses. But then a group of boys dare her to feed the horses. Felicity knows how foolish it would be to take the dare, but she doesn't want the boys to think she's afraid of the horses. So she decides to do it, and disaster strikes. Felicity learns a very useful lesson in this book.

This is another in the American Girls Short Stories series about Felicity Merriman, a nine-year-old girl living in the America of 1774. In this book, Felicity and her family go off to see the wonders of the fair, but when she takes a dare that she knows she shouldn't, trouble finds her. The final chapter of this book is a fascinating look at Publick Times in old Virginia, when the highest court met, and there were fairs and public gatherings. Plus there are some nice instructions for setting up a game of quoits (ring toss), just like Felicity might have played!This is another very good Felicity book, one with a nice story and a good lesson. And also, Dan Andreasen's illustrations make a wonderful addition to the story. My daughter and I both enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it to you.
