An enchanting vision

This book is about a painter living in Switzerland, who discovers an extraordinary spiritual artistic community in the mountains. The first part of the book, where the artist has some sublime experiences, induced through his art, is transporting, and his emerging awe as he finds this beautiful secret valley in the alps is magical. Unfortunately the author, in his eagerness to convey a deep message, falls into the trap of becoming too engrossed in the philosophy underlying the spiritual community, and the story seems to take second place in the later part of the book. In spite of this it is a great read, and a particular inspiration for any mystically inclined artist or writer.
