This is a fascinating book. I bought it in England in the late 70s, and still enjoy browsing it.The author helped her grandmother collect herbs and watched her make creams and lotions, which had been learned from Romanian gypsies. She also includes health and beauty information, such as neck exercises.Recipes include: The Duchess of Alba Anti-Wrinkle facial (egg whites, rose water, alum powder, oil of sweet almonds); healing herbs, Hollywood double chin treatment (glycerine, epsom salts, peppermint extract); hair dyes, spicy mouth wash, sleep aids, deodorant (rub lettuce in your armpits!!), etc.
