"Fee Fi Fo Fum " is part of a five-book series that include more than 125 multicultural stories and poems to complement the pedagogical intentions of the language arts curriculum. The language is progressively controlled and increasingly rich in sight and phonetic vocabulary development from story to story and from book to book. Sentence structures also progress from story to story. The stories are designed for forty-five minute periods, including instruction and discussion time. Grade two stories recapitulate the previous year s language arts curriculum. The series provides more than enough stories for a full year s worth of reading classes."
This book is perfect for the second grader! My eight year old picked up this book, and started reading it on her own, She laughed and laughed. She loved the stories and needed help with very few of the words. She has just recently learned to read, so I thought this might be to hard, but it just right. The book has black and white drawings through out of different sizes, from very small to full page. The book has 24 stories. They include the gingerbread boy, the three billy goats gruff, five brothers the bremen town-musicians, five little goblins, the snow maid, jack frost and snow drops. Here is a sample from page 12 "Good," said the nasty troll. " I will eat him up instead of you." So the little billy goat trotted - trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap, trip - over the bridge." Wonderful book!
