Long Night Ahead As the sun dipped below the horizon and the sky turned beautiful shades of purple and orange, Mr. White ended the meeting. The young peachicks chirped excitedly as their parents guided them back to the nesting site. On a special mission, Mr. White and Tealian walked with Galihand, the wise elder. Galihand explained that the flock needed to share their unique abilities with their friendly forest animals and cavern beasts. These cavern beasts had helped the flock of travelers through the caverns for many years, and now it was time to reveal their secrets. Mr. White, a bit nervous about sharing their abilities, was surprised by how many mysteries the caverns still held. Eager to keep everyone safe, Mr. White picked up his pace to meet the forest animals. When they arrived, Mr. White asked Galihand, Tealian, and some of the smaller cavern dwellers to gather food for everyone. Even though their tastes were different, the animals were happy to share a meal of blackberries, moss, and mushrooms provided by the peacocks. The dwellers shared that they usually ate deer and rabbits that wandered into their caverns. As they shared their meal, a sense of friendship began to grow. After enjoying their meal, Mr. White spoke to the group. "Eat well, for tonight will be long," he said, knowing that the night would be full of revelations. The dwellers, who were usually awake at night, appreciated the peacocks' hospitality. New friendships were forming, and trust was growing.
