Feather On The Wind

On the night of the autumnal equinox, Raina Cotterell uncovers a corridor while searching for the tomb of an ancient Maya ruler. She and her colleagues step from 1970 to 750 and into a ceremony to select a bride for the Maya prince, Al-Mon. The Maya believe she is the chosen bride sent as a gift from the gods.

To protect one of her colleagues, Raina agrees to wed Al-Mon. In the months which follow she falls in love with her prince, and finally tells him why she cannot stay. The pain of her revelation haunts Al-Mon, for he does not wish to live in a world without her. He decides his only solution is to replace his look-alike, Burke O'Neill, in the future. He must find a way to convince Burke to stay and to avoid another more deadly foe who will do anything to keep the men from switching places.

There are no words...

There are simply no words in the human vocabulary to fully encompass how I feel right now, as I have just finished reading Joey W. Hill's "Make Her Dreams Come True." This story was, in a word, amazing. I thought I was going to read a piece of fluff to pass a little bit of time and instead I found myself riveted to a story that probed into my own psyche in ways that were almost scary and brought tears to my eyes with the hero's utter selflessness. For some romance and love may be candlelight, roses, and dancing through the night like Cinderella; for me, this is probably THE ultimate love story in every possible way.

Stunning

My first thought as I came out of this story was--ascent from the darkness of insanity. I realized this probably wouldn't convey the meaning I wanted to convey unless I gave my personal definition of insanity: out of touch with the senses--body, mind, feelings, spirit--either separately, in combination, or all at once. Not in my wildest imagination would I have expected a story about a day in a mall to touch on some of the deepest aspects of healing trauma of the heart/spirit. Not in my wildest imagination, combined with all the people I have watched make the ascent from darkness to light, would I have dreamed a D/s relationship could be the instrument of healing. Yet Joey Hill makes it work, she makes it believable, and as always she brings clarity to something most people have no understanding about. Make Her Dreams Come True is a story that will leave you breathless from the first moment, as the caressing voice of a stranger evokes sensuality from the depths of your soul to the last moment of total uncensored power exchange and commitment.

A fascinating and erotic story!

I just finished this one today and I absolutely could not put it down. It was fascinating and fantastic. It combined erotic romance, psychological study, fantasy and a bit of a mystery. It was "Make her dreams come true" by Joey W. Hill. The story takes place entirely in a shopping mall (I think this has forever altered my view of malls ;) and the story that unfolds was just excellent. It is a gentle dom/sub story with many unexpected twists and a sweet message re: unconditional love. I found it a very emotionally powerful story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
