Just when you think you know all by heart, surprise.

It just won't do to buy this series in pieces. You have seen them all a million times, or you would not be reading this. And this is John Cleese at his best. Yes, he has made some unforgettable movies, but it is also the crew of Fawlty Towers that you watch this for. Everyone has a favorite episode, and mine is “Basil the Rat”. I would go into detail, yet just in case you missed one, I'd rather it be a surprise. The basic situation is that there is a small hotel called “Fawlty Towers” after the proprietors, Mr. & Mrs. Fawlty. We get a mixture of cerebral and slapstick humor as Basil tries to promote the hotel, and many times his schemes backfire. Of course, this would not be so funny without all the supporting characters helping snowball small situations into something ridiculously absurd. A series worth watching over and over again.

This set arrived just in time! They are planning a re-do of this series soon with an exotic setting for the 'hotel'. Details on You Tube. The DVDs are in in fine condition.
