Embarrassed and hurt after an unexpected turn of events at her job, HollyAnna Hutchins finds herself on the rural road to her childhood home. An hour earlier, house sitting for her parents had been the farthest thing from her mind. At least she'll have time to manage her illness and try to mend her bruised emotions.
Among the picturesque North Carolina landscape, she finds a sense of peace surrounded by happy childhood memories and a brood of baby birds; that is, until she's repeatedly forced to contend with an unwanted visitor. Making matters more stressful, an errand for her mom lands her at the very place she didn't want to be-church.
Surrounded by the love of new friends and the handsome Aaron Brimmer, however, HollyAnna's anger over her circumstances begins to soften. When she's reunited with her childhood friend, and meets a sweet little boy who's desperate for a family, HollyAnna learns
that all events have a purpose in God's plan. And that He never once left her side.
