It's my great privilege to write about God's favor and what He's done for me. If you knew the entire story you wouldn't believe it. In this book we will define what God's favor is, and its many synonyms. God wants us to have much more than we presently do, and thus, we should pray for this abundance. But when it comes, we are to give much of it away so that those around us will be blessed, and God alone will get the glory. We will learn to grow our desire for this fruitfulness, which includes writing down what God does for us! I will give you 5 specific kinds of favor, so you can label the items in your list, and become more aware of God's goodness all around you. Then we will talk about pain and suffering, describing how God's goodness can even come from that. In times of difficulty, we must believe we will see God's favor again. And we can get excited about future good things even before they come! From there we will be encouraged to use the word of God to combat temptation and receive blessed joy as a result. This will lead us to the full joy Jesus desires for us, and the unconditional love for others that God gives freely. We will glory in the resurrected life of Jesus in us, so that we can do things we never could by ourselves. This is worth singing about and experiencing God's presence even more. So, several songs about favor will be recommended for you to listen to. We should learn to give thanks for all things, because God can still work everything out in our lives for a good purpose. And finally, there is the favor of entering His rest. When we believe in the absolutely perfect work of Jesus, dying for our sins, we get God's peace in our minds and our hearts. I could shout for joy for what God is going to do in you through this book!! There are a few reasons you may not get the most out of this book: 1) You are too lazy to make a favor list of what God has done. 2) You're in too much of a hurry, so you don't recognize God's goodness each day. And 3) you don't read and pray over James' prayers at the end of each chapter. James is my wonderful grandson who is turning 15 soon, who is a lot like me in many ways. Anyway, get ready to learn, to rejoice and even laugh at how good God is all the time!
