Given our history, this father and this son might well have gone completely separate ways ... And only in becoming a father did I even begin to understand what it meant, what it was, what would be... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book deals with the problems of teen rebellion and questions of adopted children. The book is unique in that you hear the father's side of the story, and then toward the end of the book, you hear the narrative from the troubled son. The style of the author was a bit bothersome to the story line. He loves parentheses, and sticks ramdom phrases in the middle of sentences, so that you must re-read to catch the meaning. it seemed to skip back and forth a bit between time periods. But overall i thought it was a good product for anyone who thinks, "where did i go wrong with this child?" Even in the best of homes, kids can be unhappy and they can rebel. Also, it shows that in the end, the child did emerge from his rebellion, and you hear what was going on in his head at that time. Book would profit from being edited and streamlined a bit, but i would still recommend it.
