I was so confused. How could this happen to believers? The real truth is, none of us are beyond making a mistake that could lead to terrible consequences. All of us are capable of making the wrong choice and thereby reap more heartache. What can keep us? One day while reading II Peter my eyes fell on these verses. From there, this study was born. May we all keep the faith to the end. If we do make mistakes, we do have a Savior to turn to. But how awesome it is that in a handbook, the Bible, there are instructions that can keep and help us. Each day is a gift as I stand faithful in my faith. I cannot do it alone. I need the Holy Spirit, God's Word, fellowship of believers, accountability with believers, and most of all, the fellowship of daily talking to my Lord. Walking out my faith by obedience to His word is essential to victory. We are only human, but with God, all things are possible. Even if we do fall from our path, we must get up and keep running, walking, or even crawling to finish the race. In a war, the soldiers have a leader who gives orders with a plan to win a battle and, in the end, win the war. My friend, we are in a battle here on earth. The enemy of our Lord and our soul is out to trip us up, cause us to stumble, and fall. If we allow the Holy Spirit to help us learn and apply these truths in the study, we will one day say, THE FARTHEST I WILL FALL IS TO MY KNEES.
