Farewell To Kings

The red light of the setting sun casts its ruddy hues across the city. The bright light warms the blue gray medieval stone buildings and explodes off the modern glass towers. Kronenberg is an ancient medieval city surrounded by a modern political and economic European capital. Light reflects off the canals and waterways that crisscross the landscape. At the harbor, the sun is slowly sinking into the ocean's waves. The King is dead. Long live the new King, whoever he might be " As a bell continues it's mournful tolling, the King's face is covered by a golden mask, his eyes are closed. He is laying in state with the full regalia of his office around him. Gerard is a relatively young looking man trapped in the seventeenth century. He is well educated, attending the finest schools, but his ideas are based in antiquated history. He has lived a relatively sheltered life having never worked due to a large trust fund set up by his great-great Uncle Wallenstein. He is thus rather naive and childlike. "This is it. This is the moment I've waited my whole life for. After all this time the imperial name of Wallenstein will once more grace the throne of Bothnia."
