When trouble hits, it hits hard. Maiden's life has just been blown apart. All she wants is a chance to run far away and lick her wounds, but murder doesn't take a holiday.
After a horrible breakup that leaves everyone reeling, Maiden Harlow finds herself lost and wondering what to do next. David is investigating a brutal murder and, for once, this amateur sleuth wants nothing to do with it.
Yet, despite being publicly dumped, humiliated and generally miserable, there's one thing that Maiden simply never loses-her penchant for finding trouble. What was meant to be a relaxing escape to Aunt Bella's gorgeous house in Florida quickly turns into a hunt for a devious thief.
Maiden must navigate the local socialites, an implausible crime and some remarkable new friends as her vacation gets turned on its head. But could there be any better way to distract herself from a broken heart than investigating a jewel heist? Well, perhaps another murder would do the trick.
When Aunt Bella volunteers her help to an exotic and enigmatic jeweler, Maiden finds herself on the trail of a thief with some unexpected backup from a charming and sexy British bodyguard. Maiden is up to her ears in rich eccentrics, illicit gems and scandalous secrets. Is the situation distracting? Certainly. Is it deadly dangerous? Absolutely.
Join Maiden and David as they use their different methods to work through very different cases. Friends, both old and new, meet in a cozy mystery thriller full of humor, family, raw emotion and plenty of twists
