In the distant future, America has been split into six separate alliances, some being very liberal and others conservative. Fifteen-year-old Trish, having lived in progressive California, is suddenly left an orphan after a devastating terrorist attack aboard the Kindred space station and ordered to live with her aunt and uncle in the Midwest Congress, one of the most conservative Christian alliances in the country.

With its strict laws and fierce discrimination, Trish finds herself in the center of an illegal birth-control delivery ring, in order to help pay off her aunt and uncle's debts, while secretly stashing money of her own.

Far from Paradise is a science fiction tale steeped in the madness of present-day America,

and what disasters the future can bring.
