The seven stories use popular love songs from before 1955 as the basis of the stories. The song lyrics are the emotional foundations for the happy-ever-after plots. Why older lyrics? Because the lyrics are still true. And the lyrics are less frantic than many of today's lyrics. The older lyrics are more of a meditation on love. And why a fantasy? Because love lives in fantasy: it is cupids, and roses, and dreams about what can be between people. Our world is under the false notion that the primary purpose of romance is children. But human biology and millions of love songs contradict that. Humans are romantic far beyond any reproductive cycle and any fertility period. Foreplay and after play are as important to relationships as the act. Love and sex, which are not always the same, are about relationships, not children. These stories do have sex between consenting adults, but it is not explicit. I mostly find explicit sex tedious and less erotic than the imagination. These stories are more about celebrate building these relationships. With a twist.
