Presents the stories behind and discusses the validity of such famous curses as those associated with King Tut's tomb and the Hope diamond. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Daniel Cohen and his wife, Susan Cohen, have written dozens of books aimed at the young adult audience. This book is an example of his work as a researcher and author. He writes about the famous King Tut with details about the history of the curse allegedly around him. He writes without being insulting to the audience. He wrote for my generation when we didn't have internet access which I'm not complaining and reading was a huge activity in our spare time. His writing style is not derogatory but rather speaks to you and not at you. The Cohens who have written dozens of books always speaks to you without being condescending to it's audience. The Cohens have been together almost 50 years (they celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in February 2008). Despite their long marriage which is a triumph for any couple, the couple has endured the loss of their only child, Theodora Eugenia Cohen, on December 21, 1988 in the Pan Am 103 terrorist act over Lockerbie, Scotland. This book hints at Cohen's writing style as genius. The writing is easy to follow and a quick read. It's also interesting as well. I liked reading about King Tut and the Hope Diamond most of all and the book does provide photographs (black and white). There are other stories but I don't have the book with me.
