master passions

For the past 30 years, Alan Day has had two master passions, Jesus Christ first, and then his family. To say "Family First" is to assume that Christ comes before everything else. His conviction is that only in a relationship with Jesus Christ, can a man and woman discover the full depth of married love; and only with Christ as Lord can parents have the spiritual wisdom to rear their children "in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 5:4). Our American culture is engaged in a war of values and principles today. At the heart of the conflict is the issue of authority. The question is: Who has a right to say what is right and wrong? Who says that monogamy is right and polygamy is wrong? What right does anyone have to question the lifestyle of any else? These are great questions. The way one answers them is critically important. Some say that it is just a matter of personal preference and opinion. Others claim that all cultures are relative and that any set of values is binding only within the culture that prescribes it. Alan Day believes with the early church and the Reformation tradition that "scripture alone" is the authority in matters of faith and ethics. These messages are biblical then.
