Best balanced Family analysis on market

This is the most balanced analysis of the family I have read. As 70% of soc majors are now women and a majority of soc teachers women, most publishers of family textbooks cater to a feminist customer base. Little chance of an update, I'm afraid. Starbuck genuinely attempts to be balanced discussing issues from a male perspective as well as a female view. Not for ideological advocates, this text is one of the few that addresses male issues with the same weight as the historically economically and politically marginalized female. Cross cultural, sub-cultural and ethnic snapshots of various family groups (e.g. African American slave family, traditional Chinese family, Mormon family, etc.) are fascinating.
