About Falling Into Winter: Inspired by actual events, Jack Blade's Falling Into Winter is a poignant and sensitive story, giving us a luminous peek into the trials and tribulations of a hard-working young woman, born and raised on a small farm in Indiana, and the challenges she faced along the roads of her life. From tragedy to triumph, from despair to hope, from heartbreak to love.

Excerpt From Book

Earlier that morning, Ben had said to her with a quiet, dusty voice,
"We had a coyote kill a couple of chickens last night." He stared
vacantly out the kitchen window while washing his hands, and added,
"Death is a messy thing." He paused, wiped his hands on his jeans, turned
to Winter, pulled her gently to him, leaned back against the sink and said,
"I'll be in the barn."
He kissed her on the lips. Barely touching but lingering for a second.
Then kissed her ear, and whispered,"You're the best, Winter." Winter's
entire body tingled. The kiss was sweet, gentle, the way she loved to be
kissed by Ben, which had become infrequent since the accident. She
missed that. Missed it more than she ever thought possible.
