Dionysus, god of wine, theatre and ritual madness, continues his efforts to run two theatres in Victorian London while fighting off a tribe of rakshasa demons trying to take over the world. Fortunately for mankind, Mags, Leah and his other maenads are there to help.

In these new adventures, Mags looks for two missing lovers in a mysterious house that hides a deadly secret, Leah travels across the ocean in search of her lost voice, and all the maenads gather to defend their theatres when the rakshasas go to war against them.

The most dangerous confrontation of all takes place in a Paris opera house during a production of Beethoven's Fidelio. The stakes are the future of mankind, yet Dionysus is nowhere to be found.
