Nick Farone takes readers along on his spiritual journey, explaining how he learned principles of faith and applied them in his life. He was brought up by his siblings after the death of his mother. His early upbringing was in the Catholic church. He was paid to sing at a variety of churches, including the historic New York City church pastored by Norman Vincent Peale. From the east coast he moved to California and landed a job as an actor on a soap opera. In seeking to know God better, Farone felt called to the ministry full-time. That was when his experiment with faith went to a higher level. The book describes how he relied on God to provide material needs as he traveled throughout the country singing and speaking. He talks about the miraculous birth of his son. Doctors had told him and his wife they would never been able to have children. He also talks about other miraculous answers to prayer he witnessed in his services. Much of the book is a chronological reprint of his newsletters over the years. Currently he works in youth ministry in Bastrop, Louisiana. This is an inspiring book on a "spiriual adventurer's" use of the powerful force of faith, written in a realistic way that readers can relate to.
"truly inspirational" - Dave C. Treen, former Governor of Louisiana
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
Former Governor Treen's words do not fall short. This is not another "how to" book put out by some televangelist concerning how to get what you want from God, nor is it some dry 3 point sermon on the theology of faith in the bible. What it is, is the personal account of an everyday guy in the real world who goes out on the limb of the bible to find out if this God-stuff is real. Can the limb of faith really hold someone up? His, is a unique, interesting, and miracle filled story. Let's face it, it is only when situations are impossible that miracles will happen. Because it is in these situations, that the only explanation is God . . . and He gets the glory, not man. Details: The structure of the book is part narrative and part journal entries (Farone's newsletter over the years). It is a fast read for the pleasure-readers and also can be used as a devotional for someone wanting daily uplifting quiet times.
