"Faire L' Amour" is an historical love story about a rich Cajun veteran from a Louisiana plantation and a Mademoiselle from the Champagne-Ardennes region in France. Captain Louis Forchet meets Janine Arneau during the U. S. Army's triumphant liberation of France from the Nazis. The story tells of their romantic interludes while in France and the trials and tribulations of coming to live in the United States as man and wife. Louis and Janine's love and family develop over the years. The story reveals their love life and that of their teenage daughter, Elizabeth, during the turbulent 60s and describes the intrigue, violence and tragedy she endures because of her beauty and the financial status of her parents. Faire L' Amour describes this romance in the context of a historically accurate portrayal of the era. Geographical detail and timely revelations are woven into the great love story. Taber's recollections of his travels through Europe and the United States serve as an excellent backdrop to a marvelous tale of two people from different cultures, meeting by chance, and becoming a perfect example of enduring love.
