The purpose of this book is to help students and community members interested in international relations and humanitarian law to engage in the analysis of sexual abuse and misconduct during peacekeeping missions. It was important to use the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as a case of misconduct (SEA) during peacekeeping mission (MONUC), and the case of Central African Republic (CAR) including others, to illustrate past and current or perpetuating conflict in the region, and. This book applies a critical approach to peacekeeping operations and provides empirical reflection on the strength of critical theory using the Democratic Republic of Congo as a potential case of international humanitarian law. Although, there is a compelling case for adopting a comparative analysis in some African states thereby making it possible to develop an analytical concept and generic framework for peacekeeping successes and failures for future research.
