A great reference book from start to finish (and then some)

Have you ever wanted to find quick answers to questions without going through an encyclopedia or having to go online to search for them? Are you a fan of trivia, history, nature, and dozens of other interesting topics? If so, Facts at your Fingertips could be just what you're looking for. At just over 480 pages, this book is jam packed with tons of information and supporting reference material such as diagrams, graphs, timelines, photographs, lists, statistics, and conversion tables. All the major sections are color coded also which makes it faster when looking for certain items. The main topics in Facts at your Fingertips are as follows: The Universe and our planet Life on Earth The human body The history of mankind Peoples and nations Culture and entertainment The global economy Science and invention Ready reference I was a little surprised (but also highly pleased) at how detailed the material is and how well it is written and presented. Of course, since this is a Reader's Digest book, I've come to expect that since they put together such fine books. Whether your interest is in learning new things, rediscovering lost knowledge, or maybe just some quality leisure time reading, Facts at your Fingertips is sure to please and I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Well organized and touches on virtually everything

This book is almost more than simply immediately available facts. In some cases, it's more authorative - at least in se curing one's interest - than a textbook or encyclopedia. Rarely have I seen so much diverse information presented with such remarkable clarity. Visuals abound in this text, but don't let that statement fool you. The accompanying text, while brief by necessity, does an excellent job of explaining the basics. If you're someone who knows a lot about a little, or are rather someone who knows very little about a lot, this book is a terrific reference for you. In other words, if you need facts at your fingertips, and you don't know everything there is to know in the world, this is a terrific book for you.
