Manger Perspectives 2002

This little book contains portraits of the various personalities recorded in the infancy narratives contained in the biblical accounts of Matthew and Luke. Although the innkeeper is not mentioned, his viewpoint is included as well as the thoughts of a "dad" who reluctantly plays one of the Wise Men at his child's school Christmas pageant. Thoughts and meditations of Mary, Joseph, shepherds and angels are included. The book concludes with several prayers that can be used during the Advent season. I used selected portions as an Advent study and the participants loved it. The text lends itself to dramatic reading, is easily used with the scriptural accounts themselves and provokes questions and discussion relevant for today.
