FACES & PLACES are some of my real life journeys etched into my memory bank. These Ink Sketches were completed in 2013; but in reality I had sketched 3" by 5" pencil drawings in 1966 while traveling throughout Europe with three registered nurse friends. We went to Europe to visit over one hundred museums and sightsee. I felt uncomfortable using a camera to catch each person's vibrant expression, so I made mental notes and completed small sketches later in the day. Taking photographs of people who were caught in the moment of time just felt awkward. Other family sketches are my individual energies and memories needing to be liberated with ink.
