Created by writer and photographer Jo Blackwell, this book brings together 166 black and white portraits of women over 40, photographed without make-up, styling, or filters. It also includes the words and photographs of more than 100 women who sent in their own bare-faced selfies, wanting to be seen honestly.

This project is about normalising older faces.

Every line, grey hair, lump, and bump speaks of experience, resilience, and character.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good, or with wearing make-up.

But this book gently challenges the idea that youth is the only acceptable version of beauty, and invites women to reclaim their natural appearance without shame.
