Ezekiel, whose name means "God strengthens," was a Hebrew prophet and priest who ministered to the Jewish people during one of the darkest periods in their history: the Babylonian Exile (593-563 BC). Born to elderly parents as an answered prayer, Ezekiel would become known as "son of the old man" (ibn al-'ajūz). His life became a living parable of suffering, obedience, and hope as God transformed him from a priest into a prophet who would witness both the destruction of Jerusalem and the promise of restoration.
