This study investigated the extraction of chitin and preparation of its derivative chitosan from Scylla serrate and Penaeus indicus. Based on the results obtained the chitosan with remarkable anti-inflammatory activity could be used as an anti-inflammatory drug in the pharmaceutical industry. Derivative of chitosan acts as a potential resource which is already using in Food industry, pharmacological industry and many more.
