Colistin has proved its efficiency in so many nosocomial infections due to extensively drug resistant micro-organisms. However, in postoperative meningitis, when administered parentally, colistin happens to be not only less effective but also not safe.Current findings from our study actually support findings from previous ones and show that intraventricular or intra-thecal colistin route is effective in the treatment of postoperative meningitis/ventriculitis with fewer side effects and reduces mortality even in the presence of resistant strains.
