Expressions of Love

The first group of poems originally were written during the 60's and 70's and reflect a style that was simplistic in nature and left a lot to the imagination of the reader. I've tried repeatedly over the years to expand each of these poems, but I found that the end result were poems that said little more than the original, and in most cases, ended up being less effective than the original. If you reflect on the times when these poems were written, life was simpler and in general was not as graphically displayed as it is today. I think I'm glad that the poems today are still as they were many years ago. The last group of poems were written when my style had changed to become more expressive, more heartfelt, and in all cases represent a more honest reflection of my relationships.These poems show relationships in all of their glory, pain, love, desire, and above all, in the wish of all of us to share the love of someone.
