This memoir is to demonstrate one way the retiree may utilize the grace of retirement; and there are numerous extant ways. The writer has selected some of the career experiences within the political and socio-economic milieu during the period 1967 - 2011 in the agricultural research and university systems and the choices that were made in other to achieve results. It is hoped that this effort will add to existing records of previous memoirists and inspire other public career personnel to share professional experiences after service. This narrative demonstrates the need to strengthen the reward system particularly in the civil service in order to encourage dedicated personnel and minimize corrupt practices.
