This book is NOT meant to teach one how to do a particular problem, as the previous reviewer believed. If that is what you need, then try Schaum's Outlines or one of its clones. In fact, the author states up front in the preface (2nd edition) that these problems are meant to complement some primary textbook. The one example at the beginning of a problem set is meant to refresh you on how to do a problem that you have previously seen and worked. My only real criticism is the lack of any fully worked out problems in the solutions at the end of the book. One or two per solution set would go a long way to helping out a student who knows how to do these problems, but has stumbled somewhere along the way in the attempted solution and can't puzzle out what went wrong.
