The book, a fairly authoritative, well-organized, in-depth exploration of the topic, is clearly, though somewhat dryly, written. Given the topic, we at getAbstract recommend it primarily to those involved in executive development and search techniques, including senior-level human resource personnel, organizational development managers and search consultants. It may be particularly enlightening for board members who find themselves involved in executive recruitment.

This is most most comprehensive management resource book I have found on building and retaining leadership teams. It may very well be the only one. Mr.Barner has given hope to the grim forecast that the executive management force of the 21st Century will characterized by its mobility and rapid circulation among competitive businesses. I was preparing myself for this exchange of "worn out currency." Mr. Barner provides a highly effective method for conserving and developing the most valuable resource(talent)in a turbulent market. I would recommend this book to resource managers of both small and large companies. Either will be able to use his model to develop cohesiveness, increase competencies and create a vision that will help the organization meet the demands of the future. Mr. Barner's crisp, clear and well organized style makes Executive Resource Management not only a good read, but a must read. Mr. Barner has surpassed his own goal of "creating something of substance."

This is the best book that I have read on executive resource management. Mr. Barner has written and easy to use, practical guide on how to create strong, enduring leadership for any organization. I was particularly impressed with his ability to link the key business requirements to key leadership abilities. A must read for senior level leaders who have the responsibility of keeping their organizations competitive.

A helpful resource in changing and uncertain times

This is one of the best business books I have read on the subject of higher level resouces and their management. R. Barner presents the material in an organized and thought provoking manner that can be related to any company looking to grow and improve. Graphics and tabular presentations are clear and concise and pull the detailed text together for a clear understanding of the strategies and processes being presented. The use of current industry leaders in examples adds to the validity of the book. Good work.
